Doing breathing exercises at home can actually reduces asthma attack

People suffering from asthma usually have difficulty doing heavy physical exercise. Although it was just a light jog or exercise. So most asthmatics dont do sports. This is the wrong thing. Try to consider breathing excercise, it could work for asthma sufferer.
If we assume that physical activities such as exercise can trigger asthma attacks, it will be very difficult for us to achieve healthy balance in our lives. No matter whether people with asthma or not, any sports activities should still be done, in any circumstances.
In life, everything must be balanced. Diet, work activities, sports, recreation and leisure, everything must be in accordance with the extent of our ability. Particularly for people with asthma.

Doing proper breathing  exercises really do help us asthmatics and can reduce the risk of asthma attacks. Although it has not been proven completely on medical research, but I personally have seen many tangible evidence of this breathing method.

Talk about appropriate breathing exercise method, if it is performed on a regular basis, it can reduce the need for rescue inhaler. And, there are many ways and method to perform this breathing exercise by ourself.

But here, I would like to share my own method of breathing excercise. I have done this exercise for the past 3 years now. And also apply this to treat my wife too. It really brings significant result.

This is how I do the breathing exercise at home :

Me and my wife usually woke up in the morning , before the sun rises, we start by walking along the street and find the right spot to began the exercise. Standing up side by side with my wife, we starts with inhale and exhale freely. This is done for a minute and two.

Next, the breathing exercise is done slower than the first one. Inhale and exhale slower, and with concentration. And at the same time, controling the abdoment. Inhale from the nose, and exhale by mouth. Try to harden the abdominal muscle, slowly but sure. Do this for about 2 to 3 minutes.

And for final exercise, and the hard one too. While inhale from the nose, try too keep abdominal muscle remain hard, as hard as possible, and exhale while your abdoment still hard. Try to keep this condition as long as you can. Perform this final exercise for about 5 minutes.

Keep in mind, doing the exercise for the first time is usually hard. I would not recommend this methode to anyone. I only want to share what works for me and my wife. If in any chance you happens to be doing this breathing exercise, consider to consult with your doctor first.

If the method I share can actually reduces the asthma attack for asthmatic, than the goodness is not from me, trully it comes from yourself. Know yourself and you will know that the answer you are really looking for is right there, before you.

For me doing breathing exercise with my own method, can really reduce my bourden.

Inhaler for asthma, not a homemade type

This one is definitely not a homemade one, but only to be prepared before the worst thing come. May it will never come, I hope. Many people who suffers from asthma will always carry an inhaler. Just in case of sudden attack of asthma.

For me personally, I consider asthma as part of my life story. It may will never end for the rest of my life. But all thing has its own reason to happen. And  I am still greatfull to be given the ability and strength to accompany my wife to deal with her asthma.

Inhaler for asthma has became the primary need on my monthly list. It was Berotec, given by our trusted doctor, to my beloved spouse. It almost like ,  the first defend system in the front line, when the asthma attack occure. And I thank to God it works.

As we know, Berotec Inhaler does not cure asthma, it only eradicate the attack symtoms. And if we are aware, the use of inhaler in a long term is not advisable, by any doctor. So do not rely on inhaler all the time. The best thing to do is to keep fighting the disease in any kind of methode possible, mentally and spiritually.

There are no certainty in what we do for us or our beloved one to be free from asthma, but there is always a way out from any kind of trouble. Let's believe in cause and effect.

It would be a good thing to have a supply of inhaler in home, but it would be better if we do not rely on this type of medication. Beside, natural and homemade remedies can be the more better solutions.

Homemade salt inhaler for astma relief

Salt inhaler for asthma ? To be honest, this is the first time i heard about this kinda thing. It is said that it can treat asthma sufferer. But I have not yet prove this methode. Recently i read an article about this, maybe you should too.

So far i didnt find any medical explanation about this so called salt therapy for asthma. But many sites on the net are discussing about it. And this is making me interested to try this methode on my wife.

The thing about this salt therapy is you can make it for inhaler, someway to replace the inhaler from your doctor prescription. Many said this methode is not expensive, on some level, maybe.

As anonymously said through out the web, it is said in the 18th century, Polish salt miners were documented as having noticeably better immune systems, lung health, and sinus clarity compared to their families. If the salt miners did happen to come down with a respiratory condition, the symptoms were mild and recovery time was fast. All of this was attributed to inhaling salt on a daily basis.

Or maybe spend a day at the beach can result the special healing properties of salt, if this is what they meant with salt therapy.

The goal is to find mean of treatment for asthma sufferer, in any kind. But this methode is still blurry. By making homemade salt inhaler to overcome asthma, a lot of people hope to suppress the cost they have taken out of their pocket. I am sure a lot of people out there, who has proven this kind of treatment, and succesfully overcome the asthma attack has trully found the right methode.

But we cannot be certain that salt inhaler is suitable for our condition. The best way is to confirm what we are doing with the right person, our doctor. But, for others who might think this methode is suitable and willing to give it a shot, please do tell me the results.

Asthma Attack Without an Inhaler: 9 Steps That Could Save Your Life

Coffee pouring into a clay mugCoffee and tea contain a chemical similar to the old asthma medicine theophylline. The amount may be too small to do much prevention, but they could be worth a try. (See step 7.)

by James Hubbard, M.D., M.P.H.

I’ve never had a patient die of an asthma attack while I’m treating them, but a few have come close. I’ll never forget their desperate looks, their not being able to breath in enough air, and the relief that comes over them (and me) get when the attack is over.
Although asthma is a serious disease (over 3,000 asthmatics die in the U.S. each year), I see fewer and fewer people having severe attacks these days because of the array of excellent medications available. But what would you do if you had an asthma attack without an inhaler? What steps could you take to prevent or treat one when all the prescription medicines were gone?
Sonya asked it another way on my Facebook page: “Are there any natural cures for asthma flair-ups?”
The short answer is there’s nothing natural that works as well as prescription medicines for asthma. Over-the-counter Primatene Mist used to be a sort-of alternative—fraught with side effects—but it’s off the market.
Even so, there are a few things that may help. Here are nine suggestions for how to prevent or treat an asthma attack without an inhaler. You need to start preparing now.
1. Know what triggers your attacks.
  • Smoking is a given. You must stop, and avoid secondhand smoke if at all possible.
  • Allergies are another big trigger. Find what you’re allergic to and avoid it. Allergy medicines may help prevent an attack. One that’s often overlooked but effective is the over-the-counter nasal inhaler chromolyn sodium (NasalCrom). Oral antihistamines can also help, but they can dry up the mucus-membrane lining of your lungs too much and make some people’s asthma worse. As always, check with your doctor.
  • Exercise is a common trigger. Warming up slowly may help.
  • Emotional stress can be a trigger. Learn relaxation techniques.
2. Learn breathing techniques. There’s promising evidence from some small studies that proper-breathing exercises may help prevent attacks. These techniques take days to weeks to learn properly. Check with your doctor for guidance. The three generally recommended are:
  • Buteyko technique
  • Papworth method
  • Pranayama yoga breathing
3. Maintain a healthy weight, and exercise regularly. Both have been shown to help prevent attacks.
4. Eat fruits and vegetables for antioxidants that can boast your immunity, and fish or fish oil for its anti-inflammatory effect.
5. Drink plenty of water to keep the lining of your lungs hydrated.
6. Cover your nose and mouth around smoke and other air irritants, and in cold weather.
7. Consider drinking coffee or tea. Both contain a chemical similar to the old asthma medicine theophylline. (These days, there’s usually better medicine with fewer side effects, but theophylline worked.) Many doctors deduce, however, that the amounts in these drinks are too small to do much good, but seems to me they’re worth a try. Don’t go overboard. You’re probably drinking a cup or two a day already, and that’s plenty.
8. Store the over-the-counter oral decongestant pseudoephedrine (Sudafed). It may help during an attack. Be sure to know its potential side effects, such as increasing your heart rate and blood pressure, and causing urinary problems in anyone with an enlarged prostate.
9. Here’s a must. Keep epinephrine, like an Epipen, on hand. Sure it works for allergic reactions, but it works for asthma attacks without an inhaler too. Of course, get to a medical facility, but if that’s not possible, have epinephrine around for emergencies. If all else fails, it could be a lifesaver.
Please, ask your doctor before trying any of these things. Never use these as an alternative to prescription medicines. Don’t risk your life.
If you’ve tried the breathing exercises, I’d love to know how they’ve worked for you—that and any further suggestions to deal with an asthma attack without an inhaler that I’ve left off.

Concoction of betel nut, betel leaves, and cloves to treat asthma

Many different ways to cope with asthma people do worldwide. Including me, although I am not an asthmatic, but when looking at the people closest to us suffering from asthma is a very painful thing, especially when we do not know and can not do anything to overcome it. I am fully aware that the disease that we suffer are a part of our lives, and we to deal with it with all of our heart and soul.A few months ago I went to a traditional healer, to consult on asthma suffered by my wife. After several hours of talking, he gives a recipe of herbs to treat asthma. This herb is composed from natural ingredients that I can get in traditional markets near my home. This Herbs consists of betel nuts, betel leaves, and cloves. We can make this potion easily, quite simply by boiling and then taking the results of decoction. Before we start making these herbs, let's look at little explanation about the material which we will make to treat asthma.

1. Betel Nut.

The betel nut, or areca nut  is the seed of the areca palm (Areca catechu), which grows in much of the tropical Pacific, Asia, and parts of east Africa. It is commonly referred to as betel nut, as it is often chewed wrapped in betel leaves (paan). The term areca originated from a South Asian world during the 16th century, when Dutch and Portuguese sailors took the nut to Europe.
The habit has many harmful effects on health. The International Agency for Research on Cancer concluded after reviewing the published medical research that chewing areca nut is carcinogenic to humans. Various compounds present in the nut, most importantly arecoline (the primary psychoactive ingredient), contribute to histologic changes in the oral mucosa. As with chewing tobacco, its use is discouraged by preventive efforts, such as awareness of the risks of chewing buai.

2. Betel Leaf.

The betel (Piper betle) is the leaf of a vine belonging to the Piperaceae family, which includes pepper and kava. It is valued both as a mild stimulant and for its medicinal properties. Betel leaf is mostly consumed in Asia, and elsewhere in the world by some Asian emigrants, as betel quid or in paan, with or without tobacco, in an addictive psycho-stimulating and euphoria-inducing formulation with adverse health effects. Betel is notable for staining the teeth of regular users.
In Sri Lanka and in the Indian states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal a sheaf of betel leaves is traditionally offered as a mark of respect and auspicious beginnings. Occasions include, greeting elders at wedding ceremonies, New Year, offering payment to Ayurvedic physicians and astrologers where usually money and or areca nut are kept on top of the sheaf of leaves and offered to the elders for their blessings.
The betel plant is an evergreen perennial, with glossy heart-shaped leaves and white catkin. The betel plant originated from South and South East Asia. The betel leaf is predominantly consumed as betel quid or paan, which is a mixture of substances. The paan almost always contains a betel leaf with two basic ingredients, either areca nut or tobacco or both, with lime (calcium hydroxide or calcium carbonate). In an extensive scientific research monograph, the World Health Organization expert group for research on cancer reported in 2004 that the percentage of oral cancer among all cancers diagnosed in hospitals in Asia has always been much higher than that usually found in western countries, where the habit of chewing betel quid, with or without tobacco, is virtually unknown. In many descriptive studies, investigators have obtained histories of chewing betel quid with tobacco from series of patients with oral cancer; and in all these studies the percentage of patients who practice betel leaf chewing was found to be extremely large. Researchers also noted that the cancer generally develops at the place where the betel quid is kept.

3. Cloves.

Cloves are used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine, Chinese medicine, and western herbalism and dentistry where the essential oil is used as an anodyne (painkiller) for dental emergencies. Cloves are used as a carminative, to increase hydrochloric acid in the stomach and to improve peristalsis. Cloves are also said to be a natural anthelmintic. The essential oil is used in aromatherapy when stimulation and warming are needed, especially for digestive problems. Topical application over the stomach or abdomen are said to warm the digestive tract. Applied to a cavity in a decayed tooth, it also relieves toothache.
In Chinese medicine, cloves or ding xiang are considered acrid, warm, and aromatic, entering the kidney, spleen and stomach meridians, and are notable in their ability to warm the middle, direct stomach qi downward, to treat hiccough and to fortify the kidney yang. Because the herb is so warming, it is contraindicated in any persons with fire symptoms and according to classical sources should not be used for anything except cold from yang deficiency. Cloves may be used internally as a tea and topically as an oil for hypotonic muscles, including for multiple sclerosis. This is also found in Tibetan medicine. Some recommend avoiding more than occasional use of cloves internally in the presence of pitta inflammation such as is found in acute flares of autoimmune diseases.

Well, let us prepare the materials to make this herb. Please see below.

Material :
  •     3 young betel nut.
  •     7 pieces of betel leaf.
  •     7 seed cloves.
  •     2 glasses of water (500 ml).

How to make :

  •     Wash betel nut then split into 4 parts.
  •     Wash the betel leaf and cloves.
  •     Put all the ingredients into a pan containing 2 glasses of water (500 ml).
  •     Boil and reserving one glass (250 ml).

When finished, pour into glass and drink twice a day. Perform this treatment for asthma for a month. If within one month there is no significant change, you may stop the treatment. All three ingredients mentioned are known with it contents of substances that has a harsh effect on the nerves, so it is not advisable to use it in the long term. Always consult a method of treatment that we do with health experts and doctors. I do this treatment for three weeks, and proven to reduce asthma attacks that happened to my wife. Hopefully, this article can help a little more as an effort that could help us cope with asthma.

Cultivating mangosteen rind for asthma remedy

As I've promised in my previous articles, this time I will show you how to cultivate mangosteen rind into a cure for asthma. For those of you who may want to know the benefits of mangosteen can read my earlier post here. Just so you know, mangosteen is usually found in the tropics area, especially in the countries of Southeast Asia. For the existence of this fruit in other areas I do not know, because I lived in Indonesia, which is a country with a tropical climate. In my place, the fruit is very easy to find, in local estates plantation, in the traditional markets, even in the supermarket. Mangosteen fruit has been the subject of consumption of people in my country, but unfortunately not many people knows and understand the benefits of this fruit.

Just so you know, which is used as an asthma remedy is the peel of the mangosteen fruit itself, usually the inner peel. In the past, when not many people know the efficacy of mangosteen peel, usually after eating the the fruit, the peel will end up in the trash. But, as many people have proven the efficacy of mangosteen rind, many people, especially entrepreneurs vying to process mangosteen skin to be used as medicinal products. On this auspicious occasion, I would like to share a bit of knowledge about how to cultivate mangosteen rind to be a remedy for asthma sufferers, using simple tools and materials that are usually already available in our homes.

Despite the bitter taste, mangosteen peel is believed to have tremendous benefits for treating asthma. In fact, taking the herbal medicine of mangosteen peel extract proved to cure various diseases such as cancer, cholesterol, asthma, and high blood pressure. Below are some methodes on cultivating mangosteen rind on to herbs for asthma.

1. For those of you who do not like to use a blender, there is an easy way to process this mangosteen rind into herbal medicine. Take two or three pieces of fresh mangosteen rind, discard the fruit flesh, boiled in two glasses of water (500 ml), boiled until only left one glass (200-250 ml). You may add a tablespoon of pure honey, or you may not, then drink in the morning and evening.
 2. Take the peel of three mangosteen that are still fresh then scrape the inside which there is a white membrane like a thread. To facilitate this process, choose fresh fruit peel. Put it in a blender with two glasses of water, process until smooth. Adjust the amount of water to the number of mangosteen peel to minimize the bitter taste. Pour into a glass and add honey or brown sugar that has been destroyed so that the bitter taste can be reduced. Stir a few moments, and drink-up.

Some signs of side effects due to consumption of these herbal preparations are diarrhea and vomiting. To prevent this, drink mangosteen rind juice in small amounts over several days. The goal is to see the reaction and familiarize our body systems against natural substances contained in it.

Please note:
This method is based on my own personal experience, each person has a different level of acceptance and tolerance to foreign substances that enter the body. There is a possibility that the body will reject the intake of foreign substances if they are found to be unsuitable. Always consult your physician or health care professional before trying this method. There must be a cure for every disease, but the same drug may not be able to treat people with the same disease.

Mangosteen peel extract capable to treat asthma

In medical world, the development and innovation for the treatment of asthma is increasing. However, in reality there is no drug found that is able to treat asthma totally. We do not need the statistics to show us, the fact that we encounter in everyday life are more than enough to show. The fact is, chemical drugs simply suppress and fight asthma for a short while only, and are not capable of treating the sufferer in total. In fact, asthma treatment with medical drugs in the long term will only cause numbness of the asthma itself, and then the dose of the drug used will be added, and added again. It's certainly not going to alleviate the condition of the patient, but it will only make things worse. Honestly, for me personally, medical drugs on the market are less effective for the treatment of asthma.

If we suffer from asthma, we know that when an asthma attack is when the most uncomfortable moment. According to my personal knowledge and experience, most asthma is a hereditary disease. Thus, many factors that can trigger asthma attacks. In the case of asthma suffered by my wife all this time, I found that the psychological and environmental conditions, especially weather conditions greatly affect the occurrence of asthma attacks. It makes me extra caution in performing the treatment. To be honest, I'm not confidence to use medical drugs for treating my wife's asthma, and I decided to start using homemade remedies from natural ingredients only. Several months ago, I got the information from a friend about the efficacy of mangosteen peel extract. This treatment methode was immediately applied to my wife.

Mangosteen fruit originated from southeast asia, and it is state that the origin of the mangosteen fruit is from the island of Borneo Indonesia which spread to other countries. The fruit was first discovered by explorers from France named Laurent Garcin 1683-1751 and cultivated a long time in the wet tropics, then it was named after the inventor in Latin name, Garcinia Mangostana. Despite the bitter taste of mangosteen fruit peel, there are so many properties and benefits, because of that, the mangosteen fruit have earned the nickname "Queen of Fruits" . The mangosteen fruit contains xanthones which turned out to be rich in  high anti-oxidants. This xanthones substances have the ability to remove toxic substances and disease-causing free radicals from your body but it also serves as an anti-cancer agent. There are more than 200 types of materials xanthone found in nature, remain in the mangosteen fruit, there are 40 kinds, and this is the largest to be found. The mangosteen rind contains compounds that include mangosting xanthon, mangostenol, mangostinon A, mangostenon B, trapezifolizanthone, tovophylin B, alfamangostin, beta mangostin, garcinon B, mangostanol, flavonoid, epicatechin, and gartanin. Xanthon levels in the skin of the mangosteen fruit reaches 123.97 mg per ml. Xanthon has the ability as an antioxidant and anti-cancer, including breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, liver cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, and leukemia. Mangosteen peel extract is antiproliferasi so that it can inhibit cancer cell growth. Xanthones in mangosteen peel can also cure the disease tuberculosis (TB), asthma, and as aniinfalamsi and anti-diarrhea. Not only that, mangosteen peel can also be used to tackle coronary heart disease and HIV. And there are still many other properties of mangosteen rind.

In the next article i will bring you how to make your own homemade remedies from this amazing fruits.
